i personally rate donaire...i like his style and accuracy, timing and punch variety....ur always on the edge of your seat expecting at any second a montiel type explosive ko...but he has been a big fish in a small pond so to speak, so how will nonito fair against legitimate sized opponents??? every 1 talks about a rigondeaux fight but i think rigo hasn't really earned the chance to be in with a name fighter like donaire and would be a great fight if, providing they keep winning, meet a year or so from now after building the fight up, nonito is in the top 5 p4p and i believe he deserves to be there and is an exciting talent:wank:

When he steps up to the plate against Rigo he'll be exposed.

I like Donaire, but he's being protected and moved up in weight too fast because Top Rank thinks they see another Manny Pacquiao. Since Darchinyan he's only fought one guy people thought had a good chance to beat him, and really only one guy who was his size.

He should be fighting Mares or Rigo. Or both.

How do you over-hype a guy that dominated a prime undefeated darchinyan, montiel, a prime vazquez jr trying to prove himself, and every other top 3 contender that he's dominated and outclassed?

There is no hype with donaire. He's a champion, period. He can compete with the best, period.

Another guy who I'm not sold on. Over-hyped and far too highly placed on most of these P4P lists.

He has talent though, he's just not done enough to warrant the level of praise.

            lmao.

            And who has done enough?

Rigo and Gamboa haven't accomplished 1/10 of what donaire has

The Montiel KO was a long time ago. He has no business being top 5 p4p anymore. He is never going to fight in a division that matters and his power is overrated.

Before the Montiel fight, he was far too highly placed on most P4P lists, but not after it. The Darchinyan and Montiel fights gave him 2 devastating KO wins (inside 4 rounds no less) of 2 top 15 P4P opposition.

From the little I've seen of Mathebula, I think Donaire's going to have a tough time looking good against him which will reinforce the opinion of those that think he's overhyped. I don't care how good you are, there are styles and strategies that won't let you look impressive, when used by a fighter at the world level.

Top Rank is continuing to waste Donaire's time with their bull*****.
