Floyd Mayweather Jr. vs. Sugar Ray Leonard @147 lbs.

not a fully fair fight. Both guys are very close to equal terms but SRL & Hearns were huge WW's or almost 154 pounders fighting at WW which is there very 1st divsion while Floyd is an extremely small WW who is in his 4th weight class. The better comparison is in a P4P sense where it would be a WW SRL vs a SFW MayweatherComment

SRL lands and it's over. Mayweather wouldn't be able to take those punches. Good fight early on but SRL systematically breaks down Mayweather.Comment

Close decision for Floyd. His ability to adapt is unparalleled and would see him through this tough fight.Comment

leonard takes it. floyd aint going down though, he would play the slick mode against this one and counter shots. leonard will walk thru it and maybe cut money on the ropes and throw punches in bunches. yes his the bigger and stronger guy and they both just as fast.. floyd will have his moments and will not be completely dominated. leornard can knock him though if he gets lucky.Comment

No one in any era. Again, that doesnt mean he cant be beat or overwhelm but when you talk about a systematic break down, that speaks of someone out skilling someone round by round until a guy drops bit by bit. It speaks of someone outsmarting you, out techniqing you, etc......
Its like what you would say a great skilled fighter like SRL & Floyd would do to a Froch type fighter. Its what Floyd does in most of his fights. Floyd is a system. You can easily say that SRL will be too big or whatever and eventually wear him down but it wont be a systematic break down. No one in history could do that to him. No one could do it to Pea either.
Its like Floyd standing there being out smarted, out skilled, out foxed, looking foolish, etc.... That wont happenLast edited by DLT; 05-27-2012, 10:37 AM.Comment
