IMO, Froch is a greater fighter than Calzaghe.

Calzaghe retired at what, 36? Froch is nearing that and still talking about fights with Kessler, moving up to rematch Pascal and other top LH's over the next few years. Kessler and Hopkins saved Joe's legacy looking at it.

Manfredo, Bika, Lacy, Ashira, Velt, Salem, Mkrtchyan, Mitchell, Pudwill, Jiminez, Brewer, Mcintyre, Velt - that's 13 of Calzaghe's last 16 career fights, compare those names to who Froch challenged himself against.
Calzaghe won the title when he was 24, Froch when he was 32..33.

Everyone starts slow though. Look at what Froch has done in those four years. Look at where he is going. These four years he has fought top competition and it looks like he is ready to keep it going for years to come. The dude is amazing.

Canelo won the title when he was 20, Martinez won it when he was 35.

Means nothing that you defend your title against duds for over 10 years.

Well you obviously never seen half of those fights or fighters fight.

A lot of Calzaghe defences were decent fighters who were former champions.. Froch seems to be getting a lot of credit for beating same level of fighters recently.

              No they weren't.

Outside of Lacy and Kessler any fight Froch has had since Pascal, including Pascal has been better than any of Calzaghe's predominantly poor defences.

                Co-signed.

Calslappy held that belt hostage for years.

                Froch's resume is already better.

Yeah then held it hostage over in his back yard for over ten years! Never willing to take a real risk. Carl has balls and Joe has a va jay jay

Head to Head I think Calzaghe is the better fighter, but what Froch has been doing is as extraordinary as it is gutsy and I think we are at the stage where you have to put Froch's name up there with Joe, Benn, Eubank etc. as far as british SMW's go. Thats the very least he deserves imo.
