    Has the heavyweight era really...

    been that weak?

I mean we could go back and nitpick everywhere era and say ''oh this guy lost to him''
    ''this one was barely 200lbs''
''so & so was an unmotivated fat ass''

I don't get why the Klitschkos don't get their respect for being so dominant especially when a lot of guys are betting against them & predicting them to lose.

Calvin Brock was undefeated, hyped as the next big thing. (America was raving about him non stop)
Many was saying Solis would beat Vitali, he was too old for the Cuban amateur stand out.

Chagaev was destroying guys and coming off a lot of impressive wins including a beating of Valuev, many predicted he would beat Wlad.

Haye vs Wladimir was a 50/50 I'd say maybe even more said Haye would K.O Wlad.

Eddie Chambers was apparently too fast & slick

Byrd, Barrett, McCline, Thompson, Ibragimov, Hoffman, Rahman.
Herbie Hide was an absolute ferocious puncher who had knocked every guy he had ever faced apart from Bowe who he had out on his feet several times.
I think Hide was predicted to win by K.O

If people/you are predicting they will lose and they keep proving you wrong, why no respect?

I'm sure you can pick faults with many/all the above but at the time, many of those guys was flying not to mention Peter, Johnson & the likes.

I think the Prizefighter with Meehan, Sosnowski, Kingpin Johnson etc might help boost their wins & show a lot of these guys that get no credit like Johnson are actually very good fighters.

If they beat say Tua, he would of been fat and too short, a Lewis victim.

Ike Ibaebuchi would of been green, raw and mentally unstable.

The Klitschkos are THE best, their records are actually pretty much as strong as anybody in histories with the exception of Lewis & a few others.

Don't forget to include the half dozen cruiserweights that got heavyweight title shots because there just enough worthy contenders.

The brothers will one day get respect. I think they survive in any era but are not as dominant, especially in the 1970's.

I miss the 1990's...the likes of Tua, Ibeabuchi, Izon, Jefferson, Ruddock ect..

The division gets stale and full of pretenders but then wakes up and is full of good fighters. The talent will come through eventually. Patience is needed though.

The division will be a lot less talented but more exciting when Wladimir and Vitali retire.

Great Champions though. Always meet their mandatory defences and show class. Others should take note.

              I agree.
              Johansson, Patterson, Liston.

Great era. But I really don't think this one is as bad as people make out, maybe we'll look back on it in time and be saying ''That was actually a damn good era''

HW champions of every era have took stay busy fights & such. When you're fighting guys like Haye & Hide, these aren't small cruisers. They actually do carry a legit punchers chance. (Mormeck, Eliseo Castillo admittedly not so much)

If the brothers did ''The bum of the month tour'' they would likely get crucified for it yet Louis gets praise?

Wladimir is massively underrated for me, I think he would have held his own in the 90's era and got a title.

Vitali has never impressed me, he's cumbersome, leggy, overrated power and slow. He's definately there for the taking.

The heavyweight scene is in bad shape, Fury and Price are being talked about as potential Klitschko challengers within the next year, neither of them are ready, both would be brutally knocked out. A fully fit Chisora would beat them both IMO.
