Mickey Rourke made Freddie Roach famous...who's this Pacquiao cat?

If Mickey Rourke made The Roach famous, it was only amongst a few Hollywood crappers. He did him more good by giving him all his equipment to start him off as a trainer. He's always been quite a bit overrated, and his fame mainly comes through Pacquiao's achievements. In fact, other than having Pacquiao ising a right hook a bit more than he'd done in the past, is the only real difference I see. A little better distance control maybe, but that comes from mature understanding.

I'm not saying that he's had nothing to do with this, but it has been mainly MannyP's talents and growing into it. And I've been writing on and off about this ever since the first Barrerra fight. Nobody paid any attention.

Roach did a tremendous job helping Pacquiao fulfill his talent. He did a good job with Khan. He has his weaknesses as a trainer, there's no doubt, but the man clearly knows what he is doing. Is he overrated? Depends on who you talk to.

I like this from team Bradley, they hoping it distracts roach and maybe fires him up (which could go either way)

thing is, you'll get bashed one way or another. if ****m richardson or roger mayweather got the trainer of the year awards a couple of times, they'd be criticized more so than roach on here.

So is Roger in all honesty.

                "Just box that muh****a"

                "All you gotta do box"

                "He already wanna quit"

"That motha****a dont wanna fight anymore."

Outstanding advice Roger, you're a great mitt holder.

Good point but I don't think Dundee said in the 3rd fight with Norton that Ali would KO Norton early in the 3rd and that "Only God could save Ken Norton".

Its true. The trainer is only so good as the fighter. Its kinda like the relationship between a jockey and his horse.

You put a good jockey on a bum ass horse and he'll never win any races.

Good trainers are about motivation more than anything anyway because most guys at Pac's level and even way below already know what to do in the gym.
