Castillo vs Cotto in preliminary negotiations!

No matter how you slice it Cotto would have no chance in this fight.
If he elected to fight on the inside He would get pummeled like Corrales did. OR if he elects to fight on the outside if just leaves more space for Castillo to wind up his left hook.
Of course, this fight would never happen. HBO will ride Cotto for a couple more fights at the least.Comment

I read a report that in Cotto's last a couple fights (especially against Abdulluev) that his **** has been getting hard as the fight progresses.
Do you think this could cause him problems if he got hard against guys like Hatton and Castillo who love to do alot of infighting?Comment

It wouldn't matter what distance they fought from, Castillo can box too, in fact I think Castillo-Corrales will be a better fight than this one because of Diego's defense. Cotto hasn't faced a half decent puncher yet, and Castillo can throw some bombs. Cotto's chin wouldn't be much of an issue, except that he seems to find a way to get hit even by fighters who aren't tremendously skilled. Add to that the fact that Castillo won't tire after the first few blocked shots like Abdullaev did, and that spells serious trouble for Cotto. Castillo breaks Cotto down in about 6 or 7 rounds in a one-sided fight that will resemble many of Cotto's fights, except with a role reversal.Comment

Castillo is usually the stronger guy in all of his fights. Would he be so against Cotto ?
I always like to see someone fight a little at a new, higher weight before I assess their chances against the division's top guys. But, this is a fight I would love to see. They match up beautifully style-wise. They're at opposite ends in terms of experience.....& there's the whole P.R. vs. Mexico angle.Comment
