cotto needs this fight - hatton's on tap for gatti, mayweather's on tap for judah - cotto's not going up to '47 - so he can't get in there w/ collazo or margarito. so castillo would be the right choice. lets see if cotto can swim in deep waters. this would speak volumes of the kid ... i thought it was too early for taylor to fight hopkins and look what taylor dide ... bore us to death fighting a VERY cautious fight. cotto'll do the same if he fights cautious - boxes from the outside and such. if he elects to trade he gets tagged a bunch and makes it fight of the year.

I was hoping for Hatton - Cotto but this is fine.

I'm having doubts I doubt HBO or Arum would put Cotto in with this monster (Castillo).

if HBO's smart they'll sign off on this fight and get this thing going for the first half of '06 - since the *** is the man for both castillo/cotto - negotiations should be a non issue. i just wouldn't want this fight to take place in PR - MSG would be PERFECT for this fight.

Weather you like JL Castillo or not you have to take your god damn hat off to the man he is on a streak that has pitted him against top notch fighter after top notch fighter...I can never remember anything like the pace that Castillo has been on in recent years...its un****ingbelievable.

Scrap the 3rd Corrales-Castillo fight that Castillo doesn't deserve after the 2nd fight cheating and go immediately to Castillo-Cotto.

If I was Cotto's promo team I would not put him in with the monster that is Castillo.

I would ride this kid (Cotto) until at least a few more fights. In fact, I would NEVER match up Cotto against Castillo. Castillo is just too tough for a guy who has a suspect chin, and suspect defence like Cotto does.

well, cotto's no pretender - that's evident by his body of work. but if he were to, hypothetically lose this fight - it would be based on how he lost. he get blown out of the water in 5rds? SD for castillo in LV? stopped the fight cuz a punch caused a gash? but i agree w/ you on the point that instead of a 3rd fight w/ corrales - i think this fight w/ cotto would interest more people. seems like the castillo/corrales trilogy has lost its luster already.
