This is my take on the old school vs new school thing.

I think that people, no matter what age or where they are from always consider the things of their generation better than anyone else's because they simply identify with them.

For example, the shows I grew up with bring a nostalgia that kids younger than me can't understand. I also think that historians like Bert Sugar was really guilty of propping up old school fighters just because they were old and legendary.

It's hard to compare fighter vs fighter, what should be done is compare them to their own era's and that's the only fair way of doing things.

There are great fighters now and then but there are better weight classes depending on decade. For example, I think middle weights were incredible in the 80's while heavy weights were at their best in the 70's for example.

Welters in the late 80's to mid 90's....that kind of thing.

What about the real challenges? If you put a real atg like roberto duran's mind into floyd's body, he would have all(or most of them) fought cotto, margarito ,mosley ,wright, williams 5 years ago,

and he would have already made the fight with Pacquiao and Martinez.
