You follow the NBA??? Drop LeBron James in the 50's and he would dominate the same way he does now.

The nostalgia on this site goes way too far sometimes. Roy was a freak of nature.

He couldnt compete with SRR, Moore, or a Gene Fullmer?? Stop.

middleweight roy jones accomplished next to nothing
his best work was done above the limit

saying you think he could beat even a faded ray robinson at that stage in his career based on his body of work is laughable

the best roy jones fought at 175 and 168

there was no 168 at the time, but at 175 archie more would knock him out.
      he'd knock roy jones out

i think jones beats gene fullmer

you said the MW's of the 50's don't even belong in the ring with jones at 160 lbs and that shows how little you know about

      a: boxing in the 50's

      and b: middleweight roy jones

light chin and very small for an h dub

if he was at 175 or 200 (CW) he would be unstoppable, but the money and glory was (and still is,) at HW
True. If Floyd was fighting today, he'd be at CW, I doubt he'd fight at HW.

He had a really solid/good resume, not ATG or anything, but a really solid one. Definitely a HOF fighter to me. I would have loved to see Marciano keep fighting, he was only 32 retired I believe. He and Patterson could have met up in 56' after Floyd beat Tommy Jackson. That would have been a great fight.

          boxing has weight classes

any WW is always going to have to weigh 147 lbs at some point (that day or the day before) and he's going to have serious issues with ray robinson

in 2000 years the centers on a basketball team might be 10 feet tall and have 120 inch reaches for all i know.

              Thats a cop out man.......

Boxing isn't exempt from producing elite athletes. You dont tink Ray Robinson would have SERIOUS issues with Ray Leonard and thats 30 years after 1950.

i space my posts out because i dont capitalize. my hands are too big for my mac computer. hitting the shift key takes quite a bit of extra time that i do not have.

                  sue me for it.

your evaluation of my wisdom means nothing to me
