What does Floyd Mayweather need to do to be in the 10 top Greatest of all time?

Hard to gauge where he is at this point since he is active and May fight 3-5 more times....I'd say he is top 20....to crack the top ten, a win over Pacquiao, Canelo, and Martinez would make it undeniable....unquestionably the best p4p of his time, and 5 lineal titles....hard to Argue with that

I agree with this. I have him in the top 20 and possibly in the top ten. To determine exactly where he belongs would mean studying the records and watching films of lots of other top fighters of the past. To really be fair it would take weeks the way I do things. I base my all time great ratings mostly on how good I think a fighter is more than how many tittle he won. For example Oscar won lots of tittles at lots of different weights but I don't rank him high among the all time greats because I just don't think he was all that great. I do think Mayweather is great but he is past prime and unlikely to get better. However if he could score clearcut wins over Pacquiao, Martinez, and Canelo I would rank in the top 10 for sure. That would take some great fighting to win those three fights and Mayweather would deserve a very high rank in my opinion, possibly #1 of all time. But of course he has not done this yet.

I think alot of the old school fighters are really over rated. Think about, was SRR really fighting guys that were boxing since they were 6 years old ? Alot of those guys have 120 wins against 100 bums. Many of these fighters were fighting guys with 20 wins 60 losses, well after they became champ. If floyd did this he would be able to sell a single ticket. I think beating manny and maybe sergio should be enough

Floyd is a great fighter who is capable of being a top 10 ATG but we all know he's not going to be recognize in that category because he's a plain chicken...to much excuse. what top 10 fighter will give excuse like...my health is a risk and no money is worth my health, or we can fight because he's from Puerto Rico. If you want to make it big you want to give the fans the kind of fight that you're the underdog...very challenging fights. To be in the top 10 Floyd would have to beat Martinez at 160 and beat Ward at 165-168...the truth. If not then Floyd will go down as nothing but a good fighter who's a coward.
