would need to beat both sergio and pac by wide margin.
the cotto fight sent him back a tad.
Historicaly it may explain why he never went for the Prime A level fight for the resume.

          A lot.

At 35, he doesn't have time.

if he beat sergio martinez at 160 who is arguably the best middleweight in the world then he could be top 10. Beating canelo and khan moves him up in the future when they are ruling the sport.

This how I think about it: Ali is usually recognized as a top 10 atg but his career is littered with losses and crappy performances. So Mayweather is very close, if not there already.

some people are over critical...both guys are a past prime and gave us an exciting fight....did the thrilla in Manila set back Ali or Frazier? You dont play boxing...every win is not gonna be dominant, he did what he was supposed to do adjusted, showed his class and won...Cotto did his thing as well, great effort

                    Not enough seperation
A pattern has emerged. WHEN steppin up against real fighters who actually did things at da weight he struggled, Castillo Oscar Cotto.
Ortiz,Hatton,Gatti - no power no hof wins at 147,147,140 respectively.
Shane no wins in over 400 days going into fight.
THESE fights could fool mainstream not history.
Marketing fights ppv not resume to earn FOTD.

what are you talking about, with your logic...no fighter is considered great...every fighter has had tough fights and struggled....he beat all his opponents, what more can you ask? Castillo I and ODLH are the only fights he had that could have went either way...not to many fighters can say they only had two really close fights

He murdered Gatti, broke Hatton down systematically dude was undefeated and a lineal champ a titlist at 147, he dominated Castillo in a rematch kayoed Ortiz, Cotto was competitive but clearly lost

no fighter is perfect, name one fighter that didnt have close fights
