LOL at Schaefer wanting to go back to 2007 because of the numbers of the Oscar-Floyd fight. Floyd has to do with that number but lets be real, it was Oscar that has to do with the majority of the ppv sells.

The time that they should go back to compare both fighters is around summer/fall 2009. It was after the Pac-Hatton fight and the return of Floyd that every one got interested in both fighters going against each other. Start from Floyd-Marquez and Pac-Cotto fight.

Be that as it may, even if you include that fight, Pac still outsold Floyd in terms of TOTAL revenue, which is what Schaeffer wanted in the first place..

floyd is not only looking like a chicken, but a bad businessman. he could have made more money fighting pacquiao instead of cotto, don't you think? easy fight, easy money. right?

The fairest thing would be to compare their numbers as A-sides, preferably competing against each other, so that would take it back to Pac-Cotto and Mayweather's comeback vs Marquez in 2009. You can possibly go back to the Hatton fight for both, since it was both guys' first fight as an A-side, only problem is both fights happened 2 years apart.

Both De La Hoya fights should be discounted however, neither was anywhere near an A-side and DLH cherry-picked Pacquiao from 130 and it was seen as a mismatch which is why that one didn't sell as much. Schaefer is a douchebag and trying to pull the wool over fans eyes trying to include those numbers entirely as Floyd's.

Pacquiao's numbers come up comparibly with Floyd's since 2009, he outsold Floyd in two of the three years going head-to-head and generated more money in PPV and at the gate in those years. 50-50 is fair, the most I can see Mayweather being able to legitimately claim would be 55-45. We'll see, hopefully they work it out from here, even if I believe Mayweather will still not accept it.

The bias on this site is rather interesting. SChaeffer says run the numbers and split the money that way. But that's not fair.

What you guys say is fair is floyd, as a promoter, should take less than what he is worth as a fighter to make this fight happen. The other thing people say is fair is to split the money 45/45 and give 10 to the winner. Cool, except manny still isn't woth 45%

Why doesn't anyone want the numbers run? And why do we have to cut out the floyd/odh fight in the calculations? It seems people are afraid that running the numbers shows how far ahead of manny floyd truly is.

Going with the numbers (Each fighters marketability) Is a great way of solving this problem but then the numbers favours Mayweather whichever way you look at it, I seriously dont know anymore so **** it!

How about running the total ppv numbers from each fighters entire careers. Pacquiao has more ppv events, but still sold less. The reason Arum isn't on board to compare numbers is the same reason the official numbers from Pacquiaos last two fights have never been released. I'm willing to bet the Bradley numbers won't be released either.

At the end of the day Schafer had the best idea. Open the books based on what they ACTUALLY earned and let the lawyers decide.
