..Jr will never fight Pac, Jr already said he's health is more important even if Pac decided to do the test, forget it. wow, so floyd needed to add cotto, mosley and canelo to the event and fight on cinco de mayo and he only beat pac by not even 100k.

not to mention, pac was fighting some guy whos probably not even a top 20 ppv attraction.


1.5 mil is a good number - but outselling pac by about 75k, when you have all this prepartion going into doesnt let floyd off the hook for rejecting 50-50.

because corporations never juke statistics.... Hospitals, government institutions, police departments, wall street, they all play funny money and juke statistics. Why would the most corrupt sport in history be above this let alone a corporation (hbo) who works with boxing promoters?

Everything is about the profit margin. If they perpetuate a event as something that 1.5 or 2 million people saw, it only benefits them whether those numbers are true or not because it gives out a sense to those that didnt (potential customers) watch it that they missed on something special that a lot of people watched.

@15RC Ring is not correct. Shocking, I know. But De La Hoya-Mayweather went over 2.5 million a couple of weeks ago.

Perhaps the 1.5 million is close to the final number. When Floyd/Oscar numbers were first released, it was 2.15 million. By the end of everything, it tallied around 2.4 million.

so this fight could end up at 1.7 mill?

Mayweather has the number 1 because of De La Hoya don't get it confused.

Having the number 2 is a result of Mayweather, Cotto, Canelo , and Mosely. Anything less would have been a huge disappointment in my opinion.

Impressive either way.

What did Oscar do with Forbes ? point is its never all on the back of one , yes you have the main guy and Floyd is that here , Oscar was there , then you have to fluff the star with a great dance partner and solid support then you get great numbers , sometimes you can have a great fight and it could be on the beach and loads would buy it with no under card .

This was a job well done by all and good for boxing , if Floyd keeps going he will go past Oscar in numbers !

Floyd is catching De la hoya and Tyson on the PPV king title. Floyd on average sells more than De la hoya but Oscar has had more PPV fights. A lot of you like to argue that the De la hoya - Mayweather #'s were because of Oscar but the Floyd - Cotto fight does more than any Oscar fight other than the Floyd fight. Remember it takes two to make a Superfight and Oscar and Floyd did 2.4 together. A couple more fights at or near 1.5 you can no longer deny Floyd is PPV king.

The reason people give more credit to Oscar for those numbers is because floyds biggest ppv numbers prior to Oscar was around 350k. He did 2.4 mil with Oscar and in his very next ppv fight against Hatton, he did 850k buys. Why the sharp drop in buys?

Actually even if 1.5 is the final number, he out sold Pac by 250K with Cotto.
