  • To everyone saying that floyd is a bigger draw than oscar, statistically you may be correct but you also have to look at the times of both fighters. In Oscar's prime years people didnt pay as much attention to the ww's like they do now. Why? Because the heavyweights had the spotlight. Now though the hw division is dead (to America I mean) so the focus has shifted. Granted Floyd Mayweather is talented, controversial and also holds an undefeated record so that alone helps ppv numbers but imagine Oscar De La Hoya having the spotlight to himself back in his prime years....

      • So again, bigger draw?

        Mayweather-De La Hoya
        Pacquiao-De La Hoya
        (Mayweather)

        Mayweather-Hatton
        Pacquiao-Hatton
        (Mayweather)

        Mayweather Mosley
        Pacquiao-Mosley
        (Mayweather)

        Mayweather-Cotto
        Pacquiao-Cotto
        (Mayweather)

you know whats funny about pac-tar-d, is that the article and numbers will prove that mayweather is a bigger draw, and even says second largest ppv event (non heavy weight) and pactars will still pretend manny pac is cash cow!! thats why a pac-tar-d is a pac-tar-d!!! they deny the truth!!

        If anyone wants to see.

94 million is TOTAL revenue. The satellite/cable operators take at least 50% off the top. I don't know the rest of the breakdown. But the PPV split between the fighters is not based on the 94 million. They split the profit.

          • 2 mil and we got a measly 1.5m , did not met hype

            their last ppv's did,

            pac -1.425 mil
            floyd - 1.5 mil

and floyd thinks pac doesnt deserve ppv revenue ?

            • I hope Canelo's getting a big cut from PPV buys, at least .5 million buys were generated by Canelo's star power. I hate to say it but from a business standpoint, the promoters did a good job! American star, PR star and Mexican star...I was expecting between 1.8 to 2 M PPV. didn't beat by numbers but good revenue overall. floyd's will take home about 55 m after all revenues are in..for sure!

              • if they said they got 1.5 they really got 1.3 or 1.2 mill.

                Schaefer once again wrong.

they are juking stats and rounding up so they can give themselves more leeway of beating pac and bradley numbers.

                these figures are nefariously incorrect.

HBO released these numbers, and as reported by ESPN, the number will most likely increase when all is said and done.

My god, why can't people be happy that the fight did this well???

                  2nd biggest non-HW fight of all-time.......

Pac doesn't add superstars in his undercards. He's the main carrier of the PPV.
