Probably. Maybe even up to 1.8 million.

Kevin Iole stated today on Twitter that Floyd/Oscar hit the 2.5 million PPV sales mark a few weeks ago. These PPV fights take a long ass time to count.

        • How the hell can a fight gain PPV sales 5 years after it happened? Did Wyoming, Liberia and American Samoa just report in finally via pony express and full-rigged ships?

If most of those buys was just 4 canelo (from mexicans) then why didn't they buy that fight, which also had another Mexican on it in Ortiz who went on to do over 1.25million against mayweather.
Canelo on Cinco de Mayo against a future HOF has to account for 10 to 15% of buys... Great marketing trick... Mayweather nor Cotto is Mexican but they fought on Cinco de Mayo with Canelo on the undercard against Mosley and Flohos want to act like the numbers are all Mayweathers... Forget Cotto is #3 PPV draw, forget Canelo vs. Mosley on Cinco de Mayo... Those guys accounted for 0 buys.... It was all Mayweather a defensive fighter with no KO appeal... What a joke.....

              Mayweather-Marquez
              Pacquiao-Marquez

You dumb ****. I take nothing away from Mayweather's draw at PPV, but I hate it when people twist the facts, especially when it's not fair when Pacquiao is the only superstar on his cards, while Mayweather has Canelo on his undercards.

Everything is about the profit margin. If they perpetuate a event as something that 1.5 or 2 million people saw, it only benefits them whether those numbers are true or not because it gives out a sense to those that didnt (potential customers) watch it that they missed on something special that a lot of people watched.

                    standard business practice 101.
so people wait till ppv numbers come out before they decide to watch a fight or not?
