I disagree, he threw and landed more, and caused the younger more active fighter to fight passive and infrequently.

I think ultimately I'm depressed because I love B-Hop, and I don't want to see him give his belts to somebody who wont be nearly the champ that he was. If Taylor has a hard time "winning" against a 40+ B-Hop, what will he do against Winky?

What I'm saying, I guess, is that it's not Hopkins' job to impress us since he has been doing it for 10 years.

both were pretty cautious and timid.

I think that's more of a case of people not liking his style rather than him being out-fought. Hopkins outboxed the kid. Taylor did land some better punches than in the first fight, but I actually thought he was less convincing on the score cards because this time he didn't even look busier. That was his only advantage in the first fight from a scoring perspective - that he threw a lot of punches in the early rounds, whether they landed or not.

Hopkins is very impressive. Everyone wants him to run out and be "aggressive." Why should he be aggressive when he can use the technical skills he possesses to outbox someone for 12 rounds?

Note about Taylor's jab, which Lampley kept saying was so much more effective than than the 1st fight.

He landed 64 jabs in 12 rounds.

That's 5 jabs per round vs the 3 per round he landed in the 1st fight.

I actually liked his post-fight interview.

I look forward to more of Hopkins' fights.

              What a great fighter...

Taylor more so, becuase he's the one who averages so many punches a round in other fights, and his numbers plummeted vs Hopkins.

In this rematch more so, where Hopkins threw and landed more (killing your assertion that Hopkins was more timid), and did so over more total rounds than the 1st fight, where it was concentrated in the last four rounds.

how many jabs did Hopkins land?

i thought that Taylor's power jabs were as effective as Hopkins' left hooks

Hopkins didn't jab very much, which is why you see such a difference in power shots.

The majority of Hopkins' shots were flush and crisp counter shots.

Of the jabs Taylor landed, not all of them were the power jab you keep referring to. Not even close.

going by the numbers you trust, Hopkins threw less.

Remember, a "power" shot is anything that isn't a jab. JT's jabs were more powerful than most of the punches that X threw.
