Floyd's hand was injured? See I knew something was off about him, that explains it.

    • Once again you have to kill people with facts Cotto's performance looked better then it did simply because he made FLOYD's nose bleed not saying he didn't fight good, but he only landed 105 punches that 8 per round. When you compare that to the 172 he landed against PAC which is 15 per round. He was able to hit PAC much more then he was able to hit FLOYD. The difference in this fight Cotto was able to come in the ring comfortable.

      Pacquiao 336 / 780 = 43%
      VS
      Cotto 172 / 597 =29%

      • Please stop saying FLOYD cherry picks his opponents because if I recall PAC cherry picked Bradley, if I'm not mistaking he was offered Cotto, Marquez, Mayweather, Bradley and you choose the 140LB fighter. GTFOH

Cotto is legitimate, and had they fought 4-5 years ago when it would have made more sense, Cotto may have added the first number to Mayweather's "L" column.

Still, this was a great fight, closer than the cards suggest, but the scoring was accurate. It was a round-per-round score, and Floyd did enough to steal a lot of them late.

What I would love to see is a rematch with Cotto taking what he's learned and applying it. But we know that Floyd will duck most rematches, because he doesn't like to risk facing a learned opponent.
When has FLOYD ducked a rematch Castillo was his closest fight before this one with Cotto, some say FLOYD lost and what did he do gave Castillo a rematch five months later. What other fight did he really need to give someone a remtach, you can argue ORTIZ he also told ORTIZ he can get a rematch as well in the post fight interview. Other then De La Hoya all his fights have been won by unanimous decison so who else did he really need to give a rematch.

          • People are making it seem like Cotto swolled FLOYD's eyes shut, he gave him a bloody nose. Truth be told Cotto only landed a 105 punches even Marquez landed 62. Dont you expect a bigger more aggressive fighter to land a little more then Marquez was able to. Cotto only landed an average of 8 punches per round. You'll never beat the P4P best like that.

I understand that they dont want to fck up the Mega fight Mayweather vs Pacquiao, but for them to do it how they have been doing it is upsetting and harsh. They throw the other guy under the bus after so much preparation that they had up to that date for them to just fck em over the way they did. The punch stats AND the scorecards were ridiculous.
This was a close fight and could have gone either way as you said, but for them to score it how they did its just ludicrous. Makes me not want to watch boxing anymore. Great fight

Most of Mayweather's shots were clearly BLOCKED by Cotto, some did penetrate, but were a few, yet they still counted all as hits.
The part that got me was when Cotto had a great round hitting Mayweather repeatedly, then in the slow mo after the round they showed a Mayweather's jab. That was incredible.

                  • Great fight by 2 top quality fighters, I used to be one to say Cotto was done as a fighter. but I think with Pedro Diaz in his corner he will be back and champ once again. He looked very good out there and gave Floyd plenty problems. The scorecards were wack Money won but Cotto was the champ so the close rounds should have gone to him.

I think Cotto lost to Clottey and for sure he lost to Pac, but he was being trained by Joe Santiago who wasnt even a qualified trainer for those 2 fights, I wish he fought this way against Margarito the 2nd time, but whatever, he still brought it to Floyd and made for a good night of boxing. Cotto-K9 or Canelo would be cool, id also like to see winner of Trout-Rodriguez vs Cotto in the Fall.

As far as Floyd goes people can talk mess but alot of Cottos punches werent landing too solid. Did he get hit? Ya he got his nose busted up real good, Cotto has a good timed jab everyone knows that but it didnt seem to phase Mayweather. I think Mayweather hurt Cotto more and landed the crisper cleaner punches. I think he still beats Pacquiao people forget Marquez laid out the blueprint and Floyd is physically stronger and bigger than Juan Manuel with more craftiness and range. It will be a tough fight and Pacquiao will probably have some moments but I think Floyd would be content with just boxing and cruising to decision then retiring after that.

really are you one of "those guys"? you really think that mayweather let cotto hit him repeatedly just so he could please the crowd when he's never cared about pleasing the crowd before. i would like to think that a guy with a quote about "*******s" on his profile would recognize that he's exactly the same except instead of being a pac fan hes a mayweather fan.

anyway. great fight. i thought the scores were pretty good. mayweather won but the scores didnt show how competitive the fight was.
