Definitely the worst beltholder at that division, and probably not even in the top 6-7 at lightweight at the time. I'm not talking about rankings, I'm talking about real ability. He was barely top ten. Barely.
Contrast that with Canelo: how many guys at 154 do you think can beat Canelo today?
1) Lara
2) Martinez
3) Who else?
Bundrage? No. Kirkland just lost. Molina is a good fighter, but a no-name. Trout would be "green". Williams has been exposed.
Mayweather-Canelo at 154 is not a bad fight , given the landscape.

I agree with your points but don't agree Canelo would be a good fight. Because of the landscape, your 100% right but Canelo wouldn't be much of a fight for Mayweather to be honest.
Now money wise it might generate the most interest and that's why it might get done but for me the only two fights I would like to see Mayweather take if he really wants to cement his legacy as the best ever is Martinez at 154 and of course Pac.

I fully agree.
My preference would be
1) Pac: because I think the SPORT and BOTH their legacies need it.
2) Martinez because it would be a TEST for FMJ. Win or lose.
3) Khan at 147, if he beats Peterson.
4) Winner of Berto-Ortiz
5) Canelo
"Green" means not ready. If you can beat your prime definition, you are not green. That is my definition of "green".
You are either green or ready. Not both.
Calm down, and stay respectful. We can discuss the sport without you becoming emotional.
Don't tell me to calm down. I am calm. What are you talking about?
Disagreed, Variations of green.
A fighter who's 5-0 and 15-0... both are green, both are different levels of green. Canelo hasn't reached his peak yet, and he hasn't fought a top ranked fighter yet.
Sorry but Baldomir? Cintron? Getting nearly stretched by "a" Cotto?
He needs to fight a true top ranked fighter before he's actually ready for Floyd, and Mathew Hatton isn't gonna cut it.
