Look, I get the fact people want to see the best fights. But people also have to be honest that the best fights have always tended to occur after the most lucrative fights have happened. For them to act otrherwise makes no sense.

The outrage seems to be about the way floyd makes no apologies for choosing the more profiable option. If floyd had a ODH/SRL persona, and didn't talk about money and all the other ****, no one would care.

Sergio will lose before that fight could ever materialize.

      Floyd is fighting Canelo next.
Some things, you just see coming.

For example, is there anyone who didn't see that Pac was gonna fight Mosley? And then it became obvious that Pac was gonna fight Bradley.

I remember 2-3 years ago on this board that Schaefer was talking Floyd/Canelo. And now GBP has that in their sights. Two consecutive shared-billing PPV's.

I'm starting to feel bad for secondary promoters. The oligarchy in the boxing promotional game is killing the sport.

It is, but if you were Schaeffer/ODLH... and you could set up these fights and put MILLIONS into your bank account to provide for your family... would you?

        Of course. Most would.

I don't like it, but I understand it.

If Berto beats Ortiz Floyd won't fight him.(Berto)

I doubt we see an Ortiz rematch.
Berto fight is perfect if he wins. Gets a GBP/Haymon fighter more exsposure. ALso, the fight may be on HBO/SHowtime for free, like ODH/forbes, especially with floyd out the bing.

I remember Pac fans VEHEMENTLY defending Mosley as a choice when Berto and Marquez were available as options.

There is no way that either Berto or JMM would have stunk out the joint like SSM did.

But the Pacquiao fanbase insisted that Mosley was the best option (per Arum) because he had the most name recognition. The search feature above works. Don't make me call them out.

              • If Floyd has maybe 4-5-6 fights left... they will all be based on an opponent that brings in the crowds.

Aside from Amir Khan, and a long shot Pacquiao fight... Floyds opponents will all be latino.. I am willing to bet.

We would all do what they are doing. No doubt.

But I also ask every fan on here to put themselves in the position of the boxers:

Do you take the easier fight for more money, or the harder fight for less money?

If your boss came to you and asked you to work graveyard shift for less money or day shift for more money - what would anyone choose?

Its not likely but it would serve a purpose. AT some point, Haymon/GBP/ have to do something to grow their smaller fighters. You can't put Berto/Floyd on ppv.
