IDK if I like that bet because I like Cotto and I could see him making it tough or I could see Floyd killing him. I think the most likely case is that at worst it will be 2-2 after 4 and then Cotto doesnt come close to winning another round. Ill bet you though for the fun of it but Im pretty sure that after 4 rounds, Floyd will be letting his hands go alot and Cotto will soon get smoked

Cotto must bring his whole arsenal from the very beginning of the fight if he wants to have a chance. If he fails his opportunities of victory are few. If the fight go to distance, Mayweather will win scoring round by round and outboxing Cotto. For Cotto the lost is imminent after the sixth round due to his lost of stamina. Cotto will never get a decision over Mayweather even if he wins. The same case with any Pacquiao opponent (Remember Marquez?) A decision of Cotto over Mayweather means that a future megafight between Mayweather and Pacquiao is worthless.

I dont count Cotto out but I also have to believe May will win this. However, I think the biggest questions have to do with Cotto's conditioning, Diaz's gameplan, and I'm also not exactly sure we have enough an idea of what current Mayweather is like in a big fight versus a real contender. Four rounds versus Ortiz and Shane Mosley in 2010 tells us how much exactly? He didn't ever look bad but I wonder if and when he'll ever show up to fight and it's apparent he has slipped.

Mayweather says he tells no secrets, but he did so in his FOLLOWING sentence. He faces only boxers with weaknesses. Therefore, to him, Pacquiao has no weakness because he won't face him. Another blurp confession to his fans and they still choose to ignore.

                  Yep it should be interesting.

So 10 million Floyd ain't up on the Lederman scorecard after 4 rounds.

If Floyd lets his hands go with Cotto still sharp he will get caught and will get hurt.

Pacquiao does indeed have a ton of stamina, but he is the sloppiest of all. He is out of position alot. Not to mention his poor ability to cut off the ring and utilize a jab. He would get countered and peppered from start to finish. Cotto is known for not being in the best of shape in his fights. This fight will be extremely one sided.

The sparring is not with Pacquiao.

Floyd will not be able to live with Pacquiao's pace, and when Floyd throws he is open.

Pacquiao will not tire as the fight goes on as so many of Floyd's opponents do.

Floyd is aware of Cotto's propensity to swell and cut, he will try to stop Cotto. Ortiz started to swell around the 3rd round, and that was cuz he was eating a bunch of clean right hands. Cotto does not have an impenetrable defense, and Floyd is fast enough to land consistently if Cotto gives him a stationary target. Now, if Floyd decides to go to war, he's opening the door to get countered.
That's the problem, he COULD'VE stopped Mosley, but he won't take the risk to go the extra mile just to be on the safe side. As far as Ortiz, I saw more lead right hands and ducking into Ortiz more than him throwing combinations. The one instance in the 3rd-4th round when he threw combos it wasn't anything like what he used to throw back in his prime. This isn't to say Floyd is way past it, but Floyd is a very cautious fighter, especially since being at 147. He knows Cotto can ****, so he's not going to make it a Miguel Cotto fight, he's going to make it a Floyd Mayweather fight which doesn't consist of pressuring the fighter and throwing a lot of punches more than being economical and letting his defense frustrate the opponent. He's stated several times he's gonna take this person, that person out, but in the end it's what makes Floyd the most comfortable what we'll see.

One can point to his KO over Hatton, but if anyone would like to debate Cotto and Hatton in relation to overall skills / smarts, be my guest.
