Comments Thread For: Floyd Mayweather: Arum Treated Yuriorkis Gamboa Wrong

Floyd Mayweather Jr. has given his opinion on the ongoing legal situation between former champion Yuriorkis Gamboa (21-0, 16KOs) and Las Vegas based promotional company Top Rank.

In March, Top Rank filed a federal lawsuit in the state of Nevada against Gamboa (21-0, 16KOs). The promotional company is seeking to recover damages due to an alleged "breach of contract" by Gamboa.

How do you promote people without making money on them? I agree that the promoters take a lot of money from the fighters but that's how they stay in business.

I'm sure "Money" takes a cut of his fighters' purses.

If Floyd was behind Gamboa pulling out of the Rios fight, then he has done more damage to Gamboas career than Arum ever did. Now Gamboa will be shelved for the next year or 2 while this whole thing plays out in court. How does this benefit Gamboa?
