first of all how many fighters have a fan base just because?!
I thought every fighter had to be built to be a house hold name!!
I've never seen a boxer go from the gym straight to a main event pay per view with a push or promotion!! gamboa has never fought a boxer with a losing record and the guy is a boxing stud!!! and the fact his English isn't good is a bunch of crap...I thought boxing was a universal skill where your talent speaks for it's self!

Stop siding with Arum just because.

You have no idea what the contract looks like.

The purse isn't everything. Promoters like to give you a decent purse and embed that into a contract extension. How about the consolation fight? Etc.

Like a possible Pac fight consolation? Extra money for the winner? What a terrible contract.

what I do know is Brandon was set to make less than what he originally was told, in order to make the fight happen
It's certainly a possibility. But my point still stands: Why would Arum agree to that large a purse if Gamboa was just an "opponent" for Rios? There's no doubt in my mind that "Uncle Bob" would love to build Brandon up, but I certainly doubt that he'd pay some "nobody" that kind of loot (even more than Rios) just to make the fight. It just doesn't make sense.
