Smart step by Gamboa to work with Mayweather's team and get rid of his criminal promoter Oner.

Are you seriously comparing Mayweather/De La Hoya to Gamboa? Those fighters left Top Rank when they were pay-per-view stars and they left on LEGAL terms. Gamboa can't even sell 100 tickets, has no real following and can't speak a word of English. And yet he was being offered 1.2 million to fight Rios.

Gamboa missed the boat, and he made a ****** move. Had he pulled his pants up, and went on with the show, he couldn't lose. Rios didn't make weight. Gamboa could have refused to fight after that, got paid, and kept his reputation. Now all he has is a hard row to hoe. That's a self inflicted wound worse than any Rios could give him at 135 Lb.s.

You can't BOTH refuse to fight AND get paid.

                That wasn't going to happen.

                * He would have to sue for B-o-C to get paid.

                  When did people become ArumTards?

                  Da hell?
Gamboa must live up to the contract he signed. HIS responsibility.

His ass can ditch Arum after he fulfills or buys out his contract, like what Mayweather, De La Hoya, and Cotto did.

Quit teaching these people not to become responsible for their own actions. If Gamboa gets a bjtch pregnant, is it right for him to take responsibility or go directly to the Mayweather gym?

Is he allowed to do that when he has no promoter's licence? I saw on the internet that his "Promotion" Co" not only didn't have a license, but also had an unlisted phone. So how much business do they actually do? Maybe Mayweather has a trainer's licence which allows him to take a cut. But those kids wouldn't earn more than a pittance. All the top promoters (I;m not referring to Mayweather) spend up to millions on their top prospects to build them up, and pay them a good income. It takes a while before they start getting it back. They invest in the fighter. if he doesn't turn out well, the promoter is out for a big pile.

With Gamboa, the reports read that Top Rank had "invested millions" in building him up and paying him good purses which so far had not paid off for them. Didn't Arum give Gamboa an advance of $70,000 and was paying him $500 or $750,000 for this fight. Gamboa must be almost broke and in debt to Top Rank.

I suppose that they sometimes make money, and sometimes lose money. Not a business i'd like to be in. Wouldn't mind a good training gym.

Floyd overpays his fighters...he throws money at them, invite them to his house, gives them a legendary mayweather trainer...Look at how happy deandre latimore was in that seckback interview when he said Floyd saved his life...and look at jesse vargas pay check...jesse was OVERPAID!!
