The only fight Mayweather ran and pot shotted was the Hatton fight. He backs up but doesn't really run.

crazy thing is, i think opponents in the past actually looked better on the score cards when floyd was moving than these days when he's not

Defensive fighters never trade punches. In many cases, the exchange almost never happens in the entire fight. We hear all these power punchers get hyped and when fight comes, they appear helpless. If Cotto can't KO Floyd in the first six rounds, how is he going to in the next 6 where he will be plagued with stamina issues, carelessness because by then he's already outpointed by a mile?

People forget Mayweather is a lot more dangerous in the pocket. He walked down Mosley, he walked down Ortiz, he's going to walk down Cotto. If Cotto starts to **** close, Mayweather will fight in the pocket like he did for his entire early career, he was known for being extremely effective in the pocket. Cotto will think he has a chance for an exchange but Floyd used to fight in there more than many, and he knows how to dodge in there and counter in there. Plus his last combination against Ortiz in the middle of the ring looked solid and shook Ortiz, the guy is still fast being though he's out of his prime.

cotto throws wide and he's slower

he'll get hit with shots and either tied up, or floyd will step to the side. even if he's close he's not going to hit floyd.

i also dont see any issues with floyd being able to pick cotto's shots off
clottey simply covered up and started planting his feet. the power got though

floyd doesnt fight like that. he can take the steam off of the punches with his shoulders and his elbows. if a shot lands he always rolls it.

cotto's best punch is his jab. it always has been.
getting it going and backing floyd up is his only real chance of getting a decision. if cotto can really get his jab working and start to build offense off of it he can stay in the fight.

it's not going to happen. i dont think it will, anyway

Cotto should go southpaw and work the right hook to the body. Floyd would never expect that and that area is where Floyd is vulnerable when he shoulder rolls. Otherwise shove Floyd into the ropes and treat him like a punching bag.

floyd isnt going to go trade shots with anyone

hes going to be defensive and pick off shots in the pocket, and you will defintely see that elbow working too lol

cotto is going to do well in the first 4 rounds but after that is well routine mayweather

but if anyone thinks that floyd is really going to go all hagler hearns with cotto is sadly sadly mistaken or ******ed
