If Mayweather is serious about trading punches with Cotto...

Then surely Miguel Cotto has a chance? I'm not saying he'll win by any means but Floyds been talking himself up lately as a guy that trades punches in the centre of the ring with guys more than he used to, if he does this vs Cotto surely Cotto has a chance, all be it a very small one, where as if Mayweather did his hit and run stuff I think Cotto would have 0 Chance.

Your thoughts on this? is it just talk from Floyd to try hype the fight up?

I think he's being honest. What people forget is that Mayweather never forgets defense, even when standing right in front of you.

I was just gunna say exactly that , Floyd doesnt trade he stands in front and still has great defense hitting and not being hit , the guy fights as good on the inside as he does on the outside and is a ring general , that means he controls the fight where ever it is .

Exactly! Floyd is too much of a boxing virtuoso to just stand there and trade punches with any boxer. He's gonna be right there in the phone booth punishing his opponent and blocking slipping all the shots coming his way. The sweet science is to hit while not getting hit, not trade punch for punch with an opponent.

Floyd is versatile. He can adjust to any situation in the ring.

Floyd always says that stuff in the lead up to one of his fights. What's he supposed to say: "I think I will pot shot this guy and once I have the fight in hand I will be cautious and make sure I don't get hit. Make sure you catch those first 3 rounds!!!"

Mayweather can't run away no more so every opponent has a better chance now.
