    Calzaghe is seriously overrated

Listen to this guys, I just came across an article with Boxingscene's Cliff Rod claiming that guys like De La Hoya and Mosley aren't all-time greats - but Calzaghe is.

Here's my problem with Calzaghe. He made a record of 21 championship defenses but so did Dariusz Michalczewski (23 championship defenses up at light-heavyweight). To show you show weak 168 was, look at Sven Ottke who made 21-defenses alongside Joe Calzaghe’s ‘reign’!

All boxers have their share of easier fights but look at Calzaghe's resume. Calzaghe had a total of SIXTEEN fights against opponents who were NOT ranked within the Ring’s top-ten contenders for the 168lb division when Calzaghe fought them. That means out of his 21 defenses, a mere FIVE were top-10 guys in the division.

Calzaghe's career can be summarised by his own words: “I could probably give Jones a tough fight, probably the best fight he’s ever had, but I know my capabilities and unless I got paid the crown ***els I wouldn’t want to risk it’’. And that was the problem, Team Calzaghe knew their capabilities and they didn't want to risk it. Why would they when they were making easy money fighting the Manfredos of the world in front of 35,000 gullible fans?

Why dose Cliff Rod's opinion p1ss you off so much?

Calzaghe fought the best guys in his division and actually won.

Joe Calzaghe whooped all of them *****'s ass. He put Bernard and Roy Jones on the corner. Calzaghe is a white pimp. He beat the **** out of both of them and put them on front street. So I don't know, Bernard might go over there and get that again. He shouldn't.

          Floyd Mayweather Snr

Seems he's not under rated as a white pimp, but he's under rated on NSB as every day he gets a kicking for being over rated and isn't fit to lace the gloves of the guys he beat lol

Bernard knew his capabilities as well turning down a offer to fight Calzaghe.

Did Roy ever put in a offer to fight Calzaghe?

Why would Roy Jones have chased Calzaghe when he was p4p no.1? It'd be like Mayweather or Pacquiao chasing the undefeated Euro guy Senchenko. It's just not gonna happen.

Calzaghe was the man.....Dariusz Michalczewski and ottke are scrubs who never made it to HBO..Calzaghe did...and won, retired undefeated. Look how much Floyd has gone through to save his 0...Joe did it with ease.
