No shame in losing for Bernard at 47 making an
elite champion fighter look ordinary for 12 rounds.
Hopkins may be cagey and dirty but that's chads fault
and bernards defiance of father time for being able to
do those things.
Don't be mad at Hopkins for being rough be mad at chad for not having
the reflexes and ability to avoid it.
Hopkins is an all time great. He should retire with much respect.Comment

I thought the fight was much closer than the scorecards implied...saying that-I will have to watch it again,because the stream I watched it on was not too great quality...Hopkins probably only loses to Dawson...all this talk about Cleverly is a joke.Cleverly is terrible and gets hit all the time...he would get mugged by Bernard...hell,Bernard made Dawson look ordinary and Dawson is light years better than Cleverly.I'm not sure Cleverly gets past guys like Pascal.Comment

Chad looked like garbage. He had a chance to announce himself as head & shoulders above the rest of the division, but couldn't. I'd love to see him fight someone like Campillo next.Comment

Hopkins is one of my favorite fighters,but without those tricks Bernard wouldn't have been in the fight or even competitive tonight....Comment

That fight wasn't close at all and I like Hopkins. That's not to say he was dominated, because frankly no one can dominate Hopkins and that's in part due to the maddening way he fights. Sometimes it's a masterpiece ala Pascal, and other times it's a train wreck ala Calzhage and now Dawson. 116-114 and 115-113 is ridiculous for anyone to suggest. It's much wider than that as Chad landed the more meaningful blows and yes Hopkins made him a miss a ton, he also came in with his head and did other maddening **** that makes you want to change the channel, but HELL NO did he come close to winning this fight.Comment

By no means did Hopkins get owned. He just pulled a typical Hopkins and wasn't active enough tonight. He landed that right hand at will, too bad he was too busy waiting to counter instead of leading with the right. My guess is Dawson and Pascal will rematch. If Pascal wins Hop will fight him again for the title. If not I see Hop moving up to Cruiserweight for Tarver's strap. Regardless what Lampley's ******ed ass says, Hopkins looked like he still has a few years left.Comment
