If there are no more boxing fans in the world, it would be the end of all of us! NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO OOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1
I'm only 21 but I have trained and study the sport's history and
basically an expert on it.
New Generation "fans" have no respect, proper perspective or knowledge for or of the past accomplisments, pioneers, innovators, champs, great legends, and warriors of the past.
Heres some of the bullshi iv'e heard or been told through the years......
"Oh Manny Pacquiao is the modern day Henry Armstrong!"
"Floyd Mayweather invented the pullcounter technique!"
"Joe Frazier was a one handed Boxer!"
"Sugar Ray Robinson was not as skilled as Floyd Mayweather!"
"Jake Lomatta, Gene Fullmer, and Rocky Graziano were nothing brawling bums!"
etc....
I can go on and on....
Roger Mayweather sounds like a genius man when he says "Most people don't know **** about Boxing!"
Pacquiao is the modern day Henry Armstrong, superfeather to welter in 20 months, similar to Armstrong's feat.
I agree to a certain extent but also feel the old school fighters are way too overrated and find it amusing when people think they would destroy the elite fighters from recent eras.
The use of the word overrated is maybe not right but I understand what your saying here. I don't tend to compare fighters from different era's because you simply don't know what will happen when 2 fighters mix. The unpredictability of the sport is part of what makes it great. From a purely scientific perspective there are so many variables to accurately compare fighters from different eras accurately so it tends it will inevitable end up as a personal opinion. For example do you consider the advances of sports science in the last 2 decades as the millions invested in it suggest it provides results. Do you consider lifestyle, diets, regularity of fights, etc etc.
Your personal opinion will always be bias towards fighters you enjoyed. Just like in 30 years time some of us may talk of fighters from this generation and be enraged when they are dismissed by newer generations.
Boxing is particularly hard because it's a subjective sport. It's so subjective no one can agree on current fighters let alone while comparing ones from different eras.
I would have thought if you were researching the sport with such dedication this would be apparent. IMO of course lol

How is that?when iv'e been watching Boxing and studying the history of Boxing and train myself for the past 2 years and and have been studying the sport for the last 13 yrs?
I'm sure you were studying and doing in-depth boxing analysis when you were 8 but that's not my point, my point is even if you do know a lot about the sport it's pretty arrogant to call yourself an expert. Real experts let others give them this title.
