Then then De La Hoya/Mayweather "superfight" happened, along with a succession of other "superfights", and the influx of new fans to the sport and the drop off of overall intellect here in NSB pretty much coincide with each other.
Hit it on the nail. I been following this site for years never posted just liked to read go insightful postings and learn more. This site used to offer good knowledge but last or years it has been PAC stans va Floyd stans.

You clucks seem to think that Arum is a Svengali, and has complete control. Their contracts don't give promoters complete control, except over the event itself. If they did it wouldn't stand up in a court. So get real.
      You get real cluck...

Cotto chose not to speak-up for himself...Whenever he was asked about Floyd he gave the Top Rank company response:

"I jus doink my yob..talk to my plomoter"

      Evidently Arum is a Svengali..

Soon as Cotto left he gets Mayweather...and his biggest Payday..

To the op well said. It true but it won't ever change. To many keyboard warriors, espcially here on NSB.

The OP is not talking about me in the least bit..

So you were 'studying' the sport when you were 8...?

Yup. Read Ring Magazine and a whole of books. Internet helped out a lot when I started researching fighters.

That's about when I began too. It's not far fetched, maybe you can't understand the subtleties of the sport but you can at least watch and begin, and see what fighters beat who.

When you were 8? I have a hard time believing this. Especially considering you also just said you've only been watching boxing for 2 years...

No doubt, but he said he'd been watching boxing for 2 years but studying it for 13. Also, at that age, your not really going to take a lot of it in, or so I would have though.

For example, I remember seeing a fight with my dad when I was around 9 or 10... but I couldn't really say much about it. It was just two guys punching each other to me
