How is that?when iv'e been watching Boxing and studying the history of Boxing and train myself for the past 2 years and and have been studying the sport for the last 13 yrs?

No I said iv'e been training for 2 years. Iv'e been studying it for 13 years. Ever since I saw Tyson bite Holyfield's ear.

I think, as someone pointed out in the thread earlier, that it would have been similar if message boards like this existed back in the day. The internet has given us a look into things we would have never seen before, so I don't think fans have changed as much as we might think.

New Generation "fans" have no respect, proper perspective or knowledge for or of the past accomplisments, pioneers, innovators, champs, great legends, and warriors of the past.


Heres some of the bullshi iv'e heard or been told through the years......

"Oh Manny Pacquiao is the modern day Henry Armstrong!"

"Floyd Mayweather invented the pullcounter technique!"

"Joe Frazier was a one handed Boxer!"

"Sugar Ray Robinson was not as skilled as Floyd Mayweather!"

"Jake Lomatta, Gene Fullmer, and Rocky Graziano were nothing brawling bums!"

I can go on and on....

I totally disagree. I think its the exact opposite. I think mostly everryone today does nothing but hype boxers from the past while ****ting on the present. Its very common and annoying to me

That's about when I began too. It's not far fetched, maybe you can't understand the subtleties of the sport but you can at least watch and begin, and see what fighters beat who.

I got you beat there lol. I started watching when I was 4 or 5.....not sure how much I actually LEARNED at that age (probably little to nothing) but it did give me a passion for the sport :cool9:

its because of the internet social media age.The only thing that is different is the comments section where people can be as ****** and as racist as they can be without real life consequences. people and fans havent really changed. Casual fans are still casual. The hardcore fans are still hardcore. Promoters are still slimy crooks and people are still biased and racist.

I agree to a certain extent but also feel the old school fighters are way too overrated and find it amusing when people think they would destroy the elite fighters from recent eras.
