Mayweather is definitely not the greatest boxer...what a shame trying to bring him up with the likes of SRL,SRR,Ali and all the greats.

the truth is floyd knows himself who can beat him and he steers clear of those guys because thats floyd hes a chickenshiat fighter always will be. his top opponent remains castillo, corrales and thats irrelevant by now, now hes just a scared fleeing coward!ANY FIGHTERS SKILLS WILL LOOK OTHERWORDLY IF HES ONLY FIGHTING WASHED UP BUMS !
Speed, reflexes, in fight adjustments, patience, accuracy, power, defense....what' s not to like? I have no problem with you disagreeing about his legacy but denying his fight game is down right hating.

What's odd about statements like this is, without the help of Google, u couldn't name more than 5 fighters that those guys fought. Yet somehow become revisionist historians about the likes of Genero Hernandez, Chico, Castilllio, Oscar, JMM, Hatton, Moseley, and now Cotto. Floyd's resume is plenty good and deserves serious consideration as the GOAT. Add to that the eyeball test and realize YOU haven't SEEN any other boxer do what he's been able to do. His defensive stats vs his offensive stats are the BEST you've SEEN. Get the hate outta your system and be grateful you got a chance to witness it. Dude is nice in the ring, and I think he holds his own in any era, thus putting his name in the same sentence with those other guys you HEARD about.

People can try to downplay his greatness all they want, but the reality is that there has never been a boxer as dominant and as far ahead of the competition as Floyd Mayweather is. His accomplishments in the sport are truly amazing. He's been facing top level competition for almost 14 years and has only had a couple of competitive fights during that time. Everybody else he has faced, and all of them were on top of their game when he fought them, he dominated. That in itself, in my opinion means he has a legitimate claim to being the GOAT. You also need to consider everything that he brings to the ring and seriously ask yourself if there has ever been a better boxer in the history of the sport.

His intelligence, versatility, defence and everything else that is included in his boxing game are all incredibly great and I personally have never seen a boxer as good or better than him. Floyd is a once-in-a-lifetime talent and I think all of the people who are criticizing him right now are going to be literally begging for him to come back when he retires. He will be sorely missed once he is gone for good and the sport of boxing and it's popularity will be greatly diminished without him.

I'd give FMJ top 30 status, but he would not have been the top dog of the Duran, Hearns, Hagler, Leonard era. Leonard was bigger, stronger, faster and would have won by clear margin. Duran 1980 Montreal would have smothered him and beat him down. Hearns would have dropped him for the count. No way does he get past the Hearns jab, let alone the power and he is not an inside fighter if he could get past the jab.

And I forgot to say *** Mayweather and Pac. The 70's and 80's Welterweights FOUGHT each other, period. None of this I'm afraid of needles or I tell you what I pay you crap from Pac and Mayweather.

Roy Jones in the 90 s was just as dominant and ahead of the competition as Floyd is now. Plus he had wins over toney and hopkins, both atgs. Just thought I'd throw that in there.
