Wrong Hatton's best weight is 140 and he's the Lineal champ on that weight before Pac annihilated him. The duck wants him at 147 to make him phat!Zero chance because he offered manny a fair great deal in dec 09 and manny turned it down. Anyone who turns THAT deal down, you are right, there is zero chance they want to fight the guy they negotiated that deal with, especially when they got everything else they wanted.
Tim Bradley is fighting Manny at 147. He's 1-0 at that weight. If this fight elevates manny as you said, then floyd beating hatton makes floyd top 5.
Wait, 147 isn't Hatton's best weight according to you, so that should be the same caveat in manny/tim, its not at Tim's best weight.Comment

Sergio Martinez at 154. But Floyd will never take that fight unless Sergio gets old and slows down significantly, IMO. If Pac and Floyd never fight, the boxing media and sports media (fair or not) will side with Pacquiao. The majority of the media already accuse Floyd as the one who's ducking. When african-american journalists and athletes are split on who is ducking who, the argument is already over. There was honestly nobody else for Mayweather to fight that he didn't already. He fought and beat the best lightweight at the time in Jose Luis Castillo, He beat De La Hoya (without weight draining him like pac did after he was already even older), he just beat Ortiz who is I would say the most dangerous fighter around 140-147 (cheap shot or not, he was controlling the fight clearly).
Now, you will make the argument that he avoided cotto and margarito in their prime. Cotto has stated that he never called for this fight and it was never on the table. Cotto has a better chance of beating Floyd now because he is more seasoned and disciplined. And cheato - Floyd would have swept floor with him every round even if cheato had bricks of steel in gloves he wouldn't have hit Floyd.
I think Pacquiao is a great fighter. I'm not ready to say who is the better fighter between him and Mayweather until they fight. But if they do not fight, Mayweather's resume and his undefeated record keep him as no 1 for now.
Get owned buddy haha
And post-boxing, Pacquiao seems to have a brighter future than Floyd as well. So that adds to it. At this point, Floyd needs the fight more than Pacquiao. Floyd's only strategy is to act conceited and make crazy demands. Be the chest-beating alpha dog. Deep down to him, conceding to equal terms would hurt his self-confidence. He's proven that he's jealous...that a little asian foreigner with multiple corporate endorsement deals all over the world is arguably more popular than him in his own United States. Floyd thinks it should be him with Kobe doing Nike ads.
I'm not even sure beating Pacquiao will bring Floyd the respect he wants.Comment

Calzaghe was setting a very fast pace but it's not like he was doing much damage. He basically just kept slapping Hopkins and his great endurance allowed him to do it long enough to win the fight (officially at least).Hopkins was getting his a$$ handed to him in that fight after the first few rounds.
Hopkins had to resort to play acting, crawling around on the floor like a dog and howling to buy time.
Could not live with the pace Joe was setting, and come the middle rounds he was just clinching.
And yes Roy was past it, but that is my point, so was Oscar and Mosley when Floyd fought them.
You have some valid points, so I will retract my statement that you don't know **** lol.
But you should realize that Floyd is just too good for all of those guys you mentioned that he didn't fight when they were in their prime. He would have beat a prime DLH and he would have beat prime Mosley, wouldn't you agree?
Winky was a great boxer yes but he was too slow for Floyd. I know he was past it against Paul Williams but think about it even if Floyd was 45 do you think he would ever got dominated like that by P Will? Nah man.
Floyd is a level above everyone with his skills and the most important thing is his defensive ability is so ridiculous that it still boggles my mind. I would give Pacquiao a good chance to beat him but he would have to be like the Pac from the second Morales fight/DLH fight. He would have to be a hurricane in their, an offensive juggernaut throwing 100 punches a round never letting Floyd get into any rhythm.Comment

All of this is true. I can see him possibly not fighting Martinez because Martinez is not a big name so would not be a great business fight, and Martinez has not much recognition to general public so beating him to most of the sports world won't boost his legacy. Only Pacquaio at this point can do that, he knows he has to fight him, and he will.Sergio Martinez at 154. But just because the media skews it in favor of Pacquiao because he is the "nice" guy politician who does everything for his country doesn't make his legacy better.
As far as excitement, Pac is way above Floyd. But talking greatest of this generation, it's Floyd unless Pac beats him. I'm doneComment

I think boxing purists and historians will give Mayweather his props at Lightweight, but not at Welterweight. Whereas with Pacquiao, those same critics will look at Pacquiao's entire career. A former flyweight from Asia dominating the Featherweight division. Then achieve as much success at Welterweight as Mayweather or arguably even more success. That's why I think the megafight is more to validate Mayweather's legacy than Pacquiao's.All of this is true. As far as Martinez, it's definitely more risk than reward for Floyd. I just look at the success Oscar had against Floyd in terms of size difference. Then add Sergio's southpaw style, work rate, stamina and straight lefthand. Floyd's chances of beating him is less than 50%, IMO.Comment
