Why do people think cotto beating margarito is a big deal?

I saw the same exact fight as the first one except margarito was fighting with one eye and a newly broken orbital bone and cotto wasn't standing his ground as much as the first fight.

I even saw cotto weakening right before they stopped the fight. He was looking like that(his facial expression and body language) before he suddenly broke in the first fight too

the rematch does nothing to prove margarito was loaded in the first fight

It really wasn't a big deal.

The only people who think it was are delusional Puerto Ricans and Mayweather arse-lickers who are trying to hype Cotto up as a good opponent.

A mental thing, that first fight obviously effected him and overcoming that had to boost his moral at least some.

Cotto is the same guy so he has the same weaknesses, it is not like that changed but having more belief in himself make them a bit harder to bring to the surface.

It's a big deal. Margarito should have taken his soul, he didn't.

Hell there are some fighters that picked Cotto for rematches but wouldn't fight him anywhere near him being healthy after they've stopped him once. That's far more baffling to me.

The way I see it is every boxer has the right to have a rematch.

It's still a decent win considering many of us though it was going to be a repeat(like me) from the first fight. Even with the inactivity and beating Margarito suffered before fighting Cotto.

how do you take his soul when he's dancing around you, holding you, pushing you, and you can't see his left hook. Because you just broke your orbital bone, and that's his most powerful hand.

I still saw the same fight, margarito was turning it up, and cotto was slowing down. It was just taking longer because cotto switched up his gameplan and had an extra advantage.

At least he beat him fairly and didn't need a cheap shot to do it.

I think it was a big deal to Cotto himself, as he said in his 24/7 it gave him his confidence back...just in time for Mayweather.

Cotto's soul was never stolen, he quit before margarito could take it.

Margarito's soul was stolen though - twice. By these two guys.
