Why do people think cotto beating margarito is a big deal?

    I agree almost completely with what you have posted. Except that Margarito wasn't fighting with one eye. His eye was certified sound, but he may have been protecting it and not able to fight his usual way because of it. He was very slow, and easily baffled. I'm sure he's finished as a top fighter, and he knows it. Every fight he has is a tough one. It's caught up with him, and Pacquiao set him on the downslope.

        Margarito could have had a third eye, he was still gonna get his ass kicked that night. Two different classes of fighters.

          I agree with just about everything

          To me Cotto looked more like he was running for the latter half of the fight, which was the main difference...

          I'm not taking the win away from Cotto, but it wasn't a great win by any means, and considering how he won (re-damaging the orbital bone, emphasis on the RE ), there's not telling how it would go had it not been for Pacquiao
