Exactly my thought. However some of the people wanting this fight will discredit it the second its signed and say Martinez is old etc etc etc. These same idiots did it with Mosley. Like the Mosley fight, I'm all for it but as you said it doesn't make sense yet. Floyd could unify 154 and then move up to 160 before retiring to fight Martinez and finish it off with a defense and actually retire as the MW champ (assuming he wins). I'm perfectly content with that plan.
If Floyd avoids Martinez and fights Canelo.....

You comparing a Floyd fight with Canelo vs one with Martinez now? Everyone is talking about the Martinez fight just like the Manny fight but you don't see it?Comment

He often does that. He'll say "Floyd beats both handily" as if it means the fights are of the same level.
He thinks Floyd-Cotto is as good a fight as Floyd-Pacquiao. If Floyd was fighting Matthew Hatton, he'd say it was the same as fighting Pacquiao.Comment

why is Martinez ducking Ward??
Why is Ward ducking Dawson??
Why is Dawson ducking Cunningham?
Why is Cunningham ducking the Klits??
Why are the Klits ducking each other?Comment

Fu.ck Martinez...
Let him call out Andre Ward at a catchweight...or the winner of Bute/Froch.
Floyd doesn't owe that bum-fighting MIDDLEWEIGHT a damn thing.
If Sergio wants to be somebody let him call out somebody bigger..not smaller.Comment

Earth to floyd haters, Martinez said he wants Chavez first then mayweather. He wants Chavez fall 2012. Arum said no Pac at all in 2012 for mayweather.
There isnt anyone good for mayweather to fight this fall. He even moved his sentence to accommodate poochiao but he hid behind arum's wall of excuses.Comment

You're the one building in excuses for Martinez losing already. Dude your agenda is transparent. Fighting and beating Martinez or Canelo at 154 are good wins, but nothing great.Comment

Any more names you wish to use as a shield for Floyd?
Why would any boxing fan not want to see Floyd-Martinez.
I guess when they're not actually boxing fans.Comment

B-Hop turned 38 in '03, and while certainly Martinez is no B-Hop; look at what he's been doing 9 years after turning 38Comment
