P.S. this isnt a pro floyd thread its a pro canelo thread
I can only speak for myself. I know people believe Canelo could beat Kirkland. Personally myself, I think Kirkland is too big of a step up for him. And, I have said this numerous times before and I think Kirkland stops him. I'm actually hoping that Canelo team and Golden Boy are ****** enough -and I think they are TBH- to make the Canelo-Kirkland fight just because of how Kirkland looked in his fight with Molina. That would be a mistake on their part IMO.

Personally I think a good fight for Canelo would be Gabriel Rosado-Joel Julio winner. I think that could be considered somewhat of a step up compared to his level of comp. And, if he beats the winner then fight a Delvin Rodriguez, then if he wins that OK now go for the P-Will, Kirkland, Molina, Lara, Trout, Cotto, now if you beat one of them. OK, now we can talk about him being as ready as he is going to be for a Mayweather.

There should always be a gradual step ups for fighters. Fights where you can perfect your craft, learn from it. There hasn't been that for Canelo yet IMO. A shot to pieces Mosley might be a step up for Canelo really it might be a tough fight for him. I wouldn't be surprise. That's how unproven this kid is to me.

i think kirklands chin relly makes him vulnerable, on the other hand we havent seen if canelo has a strong chin yet either. imo i think he can take a good shot but thats to be seen. ill give you points for him being unproven but that doesnt mean hes not ready.im impressed so far aside from his defence i like the kid against alot of the name fighters at sww espeacially p-will i think hes ripe for the taking right now imo. to me what canelo lacks in expierience he can make up for with speed, power youth, agression and stamina. my point is alot of people give him a good chance against some of the name fighters out there, hes champ 39 pro fights and his name is hot out there. if he does relly well against mosely espeacially a tko id want to see him with a real name fighter at sww.

point is im looking for a rational explanation. after all im not an expert i could be wrong.
most of the fights were against pedestrians in mexico that he didnt get any learning experience out of

Only Canelo haters think Canelo should be forced to fight elite competition right now at 21. Canelo's people are doing it right moving him slow.

Canelo is green because he hasn't fought any good fighters. Basic stuff, man.

He could fight whoever he wants if he drops the belt. Otherwise he deserves all the criticism he's getting and more.

I see that fight as a 50/50 fight. Canelo might not be as experienced as Kirkland n that might be the difference in the outcome, but we can agree that Canelo has a punchers chance. Since coming out of jail Kirklands chin just seems to have disappeared. I just think people have high expectations from Canelo n when he finally steps up his competition many are gonna be disappointed.

Pretty much sums everything up. Once you collect one of those worthless belts you better be prepared to step up to the big boys.
