Yes, Caballero wasn't prime when Litzau fought him, but he still can fight. Going into the Litzau fight, he hadn't lost since the Cordoba fight 6 years earlier, was coming off beating Yordan, Methebula, and Molitor. And since the Litzau loss, he beat Barros and Hosono. Celestino Caballero can still fight.
That was a good fight for Broner at the time. Broner took his first step up against Ponce De Leon, and struggled. I hope they end up doing a rematch as well.
And he fought his WBO mandatory and Top 10 ranked SFW Eloy Perez. Perez is a crafty boxer, with not much power. Perez isn't a complete bum, he was a top contender, but there's no way the coke was the reason he lost man.Comment

Pac-JMM III, Mendez-Salgado, Broner-Ponce, Mayweather-Castillo I, Whitaker-De La Hoya, just a few examples, those were close fights, not robberies.
Lara-Williams, Campillo-Cloud, Whitaker-Chavez, those were robberies to me.
There is no way Williams and Cloud won, and there is no way that Whitaker-Chavez was a draw, no way in hell.Comment

Styles make fights, it was a big step up for Broner and his biggest test at that point, so having a competitive fight wasn't surprising at all. Yep, you are right about them giving Ponce a beating, but that doesn't mean Broner automatically is going to do the same, whether it was expected or not. I personally thought it would be a much easier fight than what it was, but that wasn't the point of the argument at all.
