pac was ready to go in 2009, until floyd began his merry go round of excuses.

first his blood testing request - to which pac agreed

then the "no negotiations" story which was exposed by HBO themselves - thus forcing floyd into a one year retirement

i believe next came the "you're next" - "i never said that" incident

then floyd turned himself in to buy time to think of his next excuse

no need to mention the latest excuses, which are the flat fee offer and moving out of pacs division to fight his leftovers

In the 2009 negotiations with Cotto, Pac demanded and terms were agreed upon for a catchweight of 145 where 147 is the norm. Now in 2012, Manny asked him to fight at 147 seeing as how Miguel fights at 1 weight class North of WW.


Can someone explain and give a rational reason for this strange turnabout regarding the change of heart for coming in at 147?

in nevada any fight above 140 requires 10 oz gloves so why did cotto have to wear 8 oz vs pac?

If both parties agree on wearing a different size glove, then the NSAC will allow it.

That something was the blood testing that team pac renegged on at the last minute. Yes it was team pac who refused to.agree with a stipulation that they had already known about, not team mayweather.

to answer your question it think it was just a part of negotiating and seeing what each fighter could get. I think there were even reports of floyd wanting the fight at 154 and pac wanted the fight at 140! LOL. I think they just try and see what advantages ( if any) they could get over one another.
