Martinez needs to stop crying and fight an elite fighter Baker. Maclklin not cutting it .it's like the klicksco bros opponents ,at least they have no choice Jr middle has plenty candidates and super middle. He needs to do exactly what he wants may and pac to ,come up in weight to fight.

no I agree, I just mean Floyd is small enough and Martinez makes 154 easily enough that u can't really say 155 was the difference in that fight. To me, Martienz is a guy thats gonna come in at 165 if the limit is 160 or 154...either way he's the same size, and if "skills pay the bills" then there's no need to fight for that advantage by making him sweat off an extra couple pounds which he will do pretty easily...just fight him at 160. That's where I'd like to see the fight

Well I think financially, Martinez should fight Floyd first. He's almost 40 years old. His career is almost over and he has no fan base. He needs to get his name out there. Fighting Floyd will get his name out there. Win or lose. And maybe after he can fight guys in higher weights for more money.

No doubt if the Paq fight don't happen, Martinez-Floyd would be a good alternative. After the Cotto fight, the ball would be on Floyd's court. Let's see what happens.

Yeah I'm with you. Been saying for awhile that if a wants to fight bigger guys, do it in the bigger guy's division. Catchweight are a much bigger disadvantage for the guy coming down. I don't like catchweights, but I can tolerate them if that's what it takes to make a superfight happen. But my tolerance ends when guys start fighting for titles at made up weights.

Nothing but a win over a prime champion like Mayweather, Pacquiao, or Ward will do anything more for Martinez' legacy.

As it is the man is rated above where he belongs due to a win over Pavlik on the come back and Williams in a rematch.

Two wins in 53 fights does not make a man a P4P fighter, HOF or ATG.

Said it before and it hasn't changed ... Martinez is taking on soft touches to save himself for the prom.

He just isn't sure who his date is going to be.

lol, martinez wouldn't fight Floyd with his hands down nearly as much as he normally does. he has been able to do that because he has been much better than his competition.

no doubt that Floyd would land a lot of pot shots on Martinez, BUT, I think Sergio's lead straight left would land and hurt floyd. sergio would also be able to counter floyd's jab occasionally with his compact right hook that he punished P Will with in their first fight.
