This is the biggest fight in hardcore boxing circles. Personally, I'd like to see Mayweather jump up and fight Martinez at the 160 limit for the middleweight title. It would make the fight a lot more historically relevant. But, I doubt that happens. If it doesn't, 154 would be the perfect catchweight. Anything higher and Martinez has to defend his title at a disadvantage. Anything lower, and Martinez is probably cutting muscle. Let's make it happen boys.

I would like For Floyd to fight Sergio coming off a win over Chavez...it would be a nice set up, make Sergio a bigger star right before the Floyd fight, and make Floyd press for the fight

If Martiez beats Julio for the WBC MW title Floyd might fight him at 160. If Floyd wins he solidifies himself as to 10 ATG YEAH I SAID IT!

I agree, I always say the same thing. But he doesn't need to beat Julio first...he holds the diamond belt already, a title is a title today, more importantly we know who the lineal champ is and that's Martinez. Floyd has never been one to bring his opponents down in weight, in this case he could fight Martinez at 155 even for the 160 belt and no one would complain and he'd still be considered one of the best to ever do it. They would do HUGE numbers if that fight happened for the MW strap and it would be one of the most legit top fights we've had in a long time

That's the only way Martinez could get a shot at Floyd. A victory over Chavez Jr would make him a household name (even though it shouldn't) and then Floyd might consider fighting him for the middleweight crown.

Fighting and beating Martinez for the middleweight title at 155 cheapens the win for Mayweather. It passes the smell test better if he says, I can't do 160, and splits down the middle at 154. Mayweather has never chickenpac'd his way to titles, no need to start now.
