So who is fighter of the year 2005 then?

Don't even mention those two overrated buggers. You know who I mean "I spit out my gumshield to help me win, Amigo." "Ci, and I come in fat to help me win the rematch, Amigo." Overrated pair of ****s, not worthy to clean Barrera's ball sac.

So who IS? Taylor, for nicking a controversial decision against a massively overrated old man?

    Maybe Hatton?

    hmm

Well, I think the answer is cut and dry...for now. Castillo. But, if Taylor beats Hopkins again on the 3rd the choice is already made. There is no way Taylor won't get it if he end the year with two wins over the best middleweight of the last 15 years.

Right now the choice is Castillo. Barely lost a controversial 1st fight to Corrales, easily KO'd him in the rematch, and als beat Julio Diaz, a respected young champ in his own right who many people said would beat Castillo.

So right now it's Castillo until Taylor beats Hopkins again, if he does. Hatton had a shot but due to inactivtiy after Tszyu I'd have to say no. He'll have a shot in 2006 if he beats Floyd.

        What about Brewster?

He had a great year. He knocked out all 3 of his opponents in Klitschko, Golota, Krasniqi.

          hmm

Damn, that's true. Actually, I wouldn't have any problem with Brewster winning it at all. Faced three top 10 heavyweights and KO'd all of them!

That speaks for itself, even if the division is perceived as weak. He made a statement.

What about Winky? Mosley twice (maybe that was 2004) and Tito.

If Taylor wins convincingly the second time.. may be Taylor..
If Lacy unifies the belts, could be Lacy..

For now, I'd say Hatton is the one who did the most progress this year

Lacy will be fighter of the year 06 IMO but we are talking this year and Brewster or Hatton would be good picks IMO.
