So why were you quoting me and writing this, "The truth of the matter" is that Solis showed a good performance in the first round, but he didn't win it"? That post has you implying I said that, or believed it. Am I wrong?Comment

I don't see how anyone can watch that round and not see that Solis was winning it.
Now who knows if he could have kept it up like that for 12 rounds, it's pretty clear he wasn't in the best of condition. But he can fight with Vitali, that much is clear.
I think Wlad would give Solis more trouble. He's quicker and more athletic than Vitali.Comment

Well, it's the truth, he showed a good performance but lost the round, or are you disagreeing with this? Just quoting you because I believe it makes not much difference whether Solis injured himself or the injury was caused by a punch as he was no longer able to continue fighting.Comment

No, I don't think Solis was going to win that fight.
Yes.. he went down because of the punch, since that was the reason he was off-balance in the first place.
But no, not because he was hurt.
And anybody who thinks Klitschko was winning that fight prior to the knockdown is crazy. And whoever thinks Klitschko wasn't going to have an extremely hard time with Solis is even crazier.
The only reason I think Klitschko was going to win that fight anyway is because I have a hard time seeing Solis taking him to the deep waters and drowning him.
With that said, I hope Solis makes a speedy recovery and comes back anew. A healthy, focused Solis is one of the fastest, crisper punchers in that Division. And that overhand right of his is the best in the game.Comment

I thought Solis was winning the round until his knee caved. Since it was ruled a knockdown I would have given the round to Vitaly had it gone to score.
As for the part I bolded....than you must believe the same of the Byrd and Lewis fights, no?

No, unlike Solis, Vitali was able and willing to continue fighting against Lewis.Comment

Not according to a medical doctor who was of the opinion Vitaly could have suffered permanent and career ending injury. Lennox wanted to go on against McCall in their first fight, and he was winning.....it was till a legitimate stoppage and loss though. You can't have a double standard for these things my friend.Comment

You know the medical doctor later admitted he was wrong when he thought Vitali was blind on one eye. I also think these 2 fights are completely different and can't be compared and the Lewis-McCall fight is yet another completely different case. That has nothing to do with double standards, just how I rate these fights individually. Solis couldn't continue no matter what and it's a pity the fight didn't went on while Vitali could continue but was stopped by the ref which is also a pity as we didn't get to see 6 more awesome rounds. Not according to a medical doctor who was of the opinion Vitaly could have suffered permanent and career ending injury.
