Technically yes, he did break a rule, but it's such an idiotic rule. How does that effect the fight itself? Last night he got in and out so fast it was barely a second. Such a ****** rule.

I believe that everybody at the time, including the commentators were expecting the DQ, and were very surprised it hadn't happened. It was a clear fight ending offence. And I think it's in the rules. I know the ref has astonishing discretion and Commissions only very rarely overturn. So it may be just how much the ref liked Mayweather.

yeah that, or the ref just realized how ****** it would be to DQ a fighter who had been winning by wide margin and just been intentionally low blowed. throwing his trainer out was a good call

floyd is floyd. he can do what he wants when he wants. against gatti when the ref said "stop punching!" floyd kept punching and floored gatti but i guess the ref was only telling gatti to stop punching and not floyd?

yeah, except floyd had nothing to do with his trainer coming into the ring. Nice logic.

Never heard the ref say stop punching. In fact, I saw Gatti pushing the referee which is really bad to begin with and then he got floored by Mayweather.

the rules don't apply to floyd. he gets preferential treatment. anyone else would have been dq'd. nice no logic by you.

well you don't pay attention when you watch boxing. that is clear. he said stop punching so gatti stopped and floyd hit him. then the ref started counting. i guess he forgot what he just said? so gatti was obviously mad at him for letting floyd hit him when he said stop.

                    nothing.

I saw Mayweather get a knockdown and I saw a bully pushing the ref and not paying attention.

no source? like we all haven't seen the gatti-mayweather fight? he got a knockdown because the ref said stop punching and then was coming in to break them and floyd knocked him down. he only started pushing the ref after he ruled it a knockdown. how can you blame gatti for being mad when the ref fu-ked up. typical flo-mo with no logic. ignoring the problem and focusing on the reaction to the problem.
