Did I want the fight to stop, NO.
Nobody did. Especially Cotto fans, I wanted more damage done.
Was Margarito going to turn the fight around,NO.
Margarito did land some shots but those shots were not changing

never proven he used plaster against Cotto.
His fans just want to believe he did to justify the humiliating, kneeinducing ,career ending ,macabre beating Margarito inflicted upon him.

truth is Margarito sonned Cotto fair and square if you want to credit someone for Cotto's gift. Credit Mosley,Pacquiao and the doctor.

In order to stop Cotto you need to accumulate damage. Margarito was landing in big numbers from the 2nd round on in the first fight. He wasn't doing anywhere near the work that he was doing in the 1st fight in the 2nd fight in either quantity or the quality of his punches. When Cotto laid on the ropes in the 1st fight Margarito was really able to get leverage on his shots and he landed a ton of them. That never happened in the 2nd fight so the punches Tony did land he wasn't able to get good leverage on them.

He clearly lost the 9th round and he got his ass kicked in the 8th round. Cotto showed no signs of breaking down to where he was gonna get stopped.

While I would have liked to see what happened in the final three rounds, I can't blame them for stopping the fight. Margarito was getting his ass whooped, and that eye was terrible. He shouldn't have been allowed to fight in the first place, his eye began to swell shut immediately.

when Margarito beat Cotto I took it like a fanatic and said he was the best fighter tonight
same thing when Pac beat Cotto but when he was caught in the Mosley fight
with plaster that changed everything that makes him dirty.
Like some Tony fans say, no proof he used plaster with Cotto, I say no proof he didn't.
