I believe most people want to see wars, when Mayweather fights we already know what's going to happen UD for Mayweather. Take away his last fight of Ortiz and his last TKO was Hatton in 2007 and two years before that was his last TKO of Mitchell. We know he has hand problems for years and maybe that's why he adopted to his style now. Back in his younger days he was much more exciting to watch. Think of it this way....who would you rather see fight live in their prime? Mike Tyson or Floyd Mayweather Jr.?

I understand where you're coming from and I don't disagree totally. I just feel that if you don't like or appreciate the skills of a boxer with Floyd's talent I find it hard to believe that you appreciate the sport of boxing fully and that you would rather watch a fight, not a boxing match. my buddy who's watched the sport for 50years and has hundreds of old boxing tapes and is basically a human encyclopedia on the sport is not a 'true fan' because he doesn't like Floyd's style

To me its boring because of his recent level of competition. Ortiz, SSM, and Marquez were all bs fights for someone claiming to be an all time great.
Floyd hasn't fought a real threat since Hatton other than his children and baby's momma...

he's not boring but there were fights he had that he could've done more but chose to just coast along for a decision win. when the more skilled-fighter shows unwillingness to put more action in the ring than his less-skilled opponent, that will most likely frustrate the fans. it's boxing...it's a combat sports and fans love action in the ring.

you can see it in fight venues, when fighters go into a lull, fans begin booing. but when they go toe to toe, people start cheering. and we're talking here about fans who would spend money to go to fight venues to see the fights live. how can you say they're not real boxing fans and don't know anything about boxing? and what is complicated about boxing as a sport anyway? i don't get it why some people are always talking about boxing knowledge like it's a complicated thing? there's nothing deep about boxing that you have to go through some lessons to learn it. even uneducated people can acquire boxing knowledge. i bet some of these people bragging about boxing knowledge are either uneducated or unemployed who happens to have lots of free time to scour the internet and watch fights on youtube.

I said SKILLS not style. But to answer your question AGAIN I don't believe a TRUE fan of BOXING wouldn't appreciate Floyd's boxing ability and wouldn't not like watching him fight. I understand why someone would not like him as a person but don't let that overshadow his boxing ability when you are watching him fight. Floyd and a few other boxers are what the Sweet Science is about and TRUE fans respect the Sweet Science at it's best. I like other fighting STYLES also. I love a great brawl like most other fans but I feel only TRUE fans enjoy a boxing clinic just as much, if not more. If someone watches boxing as much as your friend I believe they respect Floyd's skills but let things other than boxing overshadow what he does inside they ring causing a bias against Floyd. I'm done with this debate, I don't expect to change your opinion.
