I dont find his fights boring usually. Sometimes the potshot fests can get tiresome cos you know that he could open up a bit more and throw combos.

'true' boxing fans might respect it, doesn't mean that its their preferred style
Absolutely NOT but when you can't appreciate someone that posses EVERY skill in the book besides maybe one punch power I don't believe you are a TRUE fan of the sport.

^ true, i personally enjoy watching pure boxers more then the sluggers, the term "Sweet Science" dosent apply to thoes who like to come in and throw an obscene amount of punches, and take as many as they dish out.

I think a lot of people simply want him to just finish the job more than doing enough just to win. Boxing purists and his fans love watching his skills for 12 rounds, and that's fine. But even me being a fan for over 20 years and admiring both boxers and brawlers, I'd be lying to you if I said I never walked out of a Mayweather fight by the 9th round. At least later in his career, Floyd's just done enough to get the win more that closing the show. If Floyd took the initiative and just went for the KO later in the fight when the chances have presented themselves, I don't think he'd have as much backlash minus his outside the ring mistakes.

You can like a fighter and think he's boring too. I think Vlad is boring a lot of the time

Floyd has a tendency to potshot for an entire fight and not throw combos

I find him to be one of the best fighters to watch in the sport.

Technical brilliance and supreme skill are far from boring in my book.

ive know fight fans that have been following the sport for longer than i've been alive and they like what they like

some dont like one-dimensional brawlers, some dont like defensive-minded fighters

their preference over a certain style doesn't make them any less than a 'true' fan

you dont have to like EVERYthing in boxing to be a 'true fan'

I understand where you're coming from and I don't disagree totally. I just feel that if you don't like or appreciate the skills of a boxer with Floyd's talent I find it hard to believe that you appreciate the sport of boxing fully and that you would rather watch a fight, not a boxing match. This is my opinion and I don't expect to change yours.
