Floyd Mayweather has never been a "runner".

      Marquez has taken plenty.

The idea and myth of Mayweather having "limited lateral movement" that has arisen in recent years is possibly the most humorous yet bewildering in many years.

Reminds of the myth that Pacquiao had improved between 08-now drastically that was thankfully debunked last year.
You're still living in the Floyd Mayweather Super Featherweight days. He has embraced his more stationary fight style. Why can't some of his fans do the same? It's not a myth when you can show proof that he has been doing it for years.

That's my point. He had good footwork, but he wasn't constantly moving around the ring because he never had to.

Yeah.... I'm actually really not living in his 130 days at all.

So how long has this style been embraced for now? 05? 06? 07? When?

He's been saying since 05 that he "stands toe to toe" he "comes straight forward" he didn't say it for the first time against Mosley, yet no one would even entertain the idea of even uttering that Mayweather is a stationary fighter back then and not until 2010. The fact is, if Roach hadn't said that his "legs are shot" no one would and it's a myth that has emerged since that day.

If Mayweather gets into a situation where he's forced backwards believe me he is more than capable of using his legs to go backwards.

Of course, not like he could in 06 or 07 but he still has the capability. The fact he chooses not to doesn't mean he can't.

Not once has Mayweather implied that he has to fight that way and even then he's not flat footed at all even now to be honest.

If you're basing the idea that Mayweather is a stationary fighter because he's "embraced" this new fighitng style then hell Mayweather has been a stationary fighter pretty much the entirety of duration 140+.

I would like to see that fight. Both these guys like to adjust during their fights. It would be about who can checkmate who in a boxing chess match.

But when he had to, he would.

              Same kind of thing now.
