Ward would be too much for Martinez. Weight differential would be too much and Ward's nacho-cheese style would give Martinez fits. Ward via TKO.

At 168? Hell no, Ward is going to be 175+ on fight night, while Martinez is going to be around 165, that's too much weight difference.

Some guys here keep saying that Martinez wants Pacquiao. Martinez already said several times before that he thinks that a fight with Pacquiao is highly unlikely because of the weight difference, but that he thinks that a fight with Mayweather Jr at 154 could be made.

If Martinez gets a shot at Mayweather Jr, both guys are going to be around the same size on fight night, with Sergio being a little heavier but not by a large margin. If Martinez fights at 168 against Ward, he's going to be out weighted by at least 10 pounds.

Ward is a huge SMW. He can go to 175 easily if he wanted too.

        Martinez is too small.

So let me get this straight, Sergio is to small for Ward but not for Floyd or Manny ( both of whom have had only ONE fight in the 150 arena).

You guys just want Sergio to beat Floyd and Manny on physicality because we both know skill for skill, he wouldnt beat Manny or Floyd (or Ward).

Sergio is a middleweight, how is he too small for fight Ward especially if Ward moves down to a catchweight of 164, which he has stated in the past he would do.

Ward started his boxing career at 160...stop protecting Sergio.

          Ward-Dirrell!

"Good win by Martinez. Did what he had to do. I'm ready!!!"

Sergio would rather fight Euro-bums and call out inexperienced fighters or smaller guys. why dont he step up to a real challenge like true champs do? Ward will be waiting for him. and we'll see whos truly #3. for the guys complaining saying hes too small, u are the same people that are begging for a floyd fight. serge is 2 div. above floyd. ward is 1 div. above sergio. whats the problem?

            make it happen!!

Sergio needs to top calling out welterweights and fight middleweights
            Martinez will decline this offer.

            Why?

Because Ward poses too much of a risk and Martinez is in the twilight of his career. Only the promise of a big payday the size of which only Mayweather and Pacquiao can offer will entice Martinez to take a risk like facing Ward.

Ward cannot deliver those numbers and Martinez cannot afford to squander even an ounce of his diminishing momentum.

Expect more soft touches from Martinez. He's doing his best to stall for a mega payday and will only relent if no opportunities present themselves and he gets desperate.

Ward IMO will not go to LHW because Dawson IMO would spell doom for him. Not that Dawson is that much better than Ward, but more because I see Dawson's 6" reach presenting problems for the shorter armed Ward.

Then again Ward is much rougher and more durable on the inside than Dawson. He proved as much against Bika IMO.

In all honesty, when Kirkland beats Molina, I know Canelo still won't want anything to do with Kirkland.

I say make Kirkland vs Martinez at 154.

Ward is not only the bigger man but the better p4p fighter, he'd win handily. Sergio should take the fight. If he doesn't i wouldn't hate too hard though, he isnt a big MW, its not a fight that NEEDS to happen with a ton of public outcry and i dont hate on him for trying his luck with Mayweather (who i feel would beat him) or Pacquaio - they are THE Money fighters after all...

Ward vs Bute is a better fight IMO but id still be all over a Martinez bout

Dawson vs Ward is a FIGHT! A Fight for the real boxing fans, no gimmicks just Top class fighters with excellent technique and all round ability. I feel like its a fight that will happen one day, hopefully not Too far down the line. Ward is THE best In-fighter in the sport, is a strong and tough guy too with a fighters heart. That makes up for the reach advantage Dawson has over him, Dawson's desire has to be questioned too, i think Ward might just out will him....

Andre started at LHW and won Olympic Gold there, Dawson used to be a LHW too so im not so sure there is a big difference in who is the naturally "bigger" man.
