Small in regards to what? Height or weight?

Its funny I have never ever heard Martinez call out anyone in the higher weights. Its quite interesting. I mean he's calling out Mayweather, 154 is Mayweathers 5th weight class. 154 would be Mannys 7th or 8th weight class. JMW is Martinez's 2nd weight class.

I just wonder why he hasnt called out the top dogs @ 168?

It's too bad to hear this from Larry. Why is he hating so bad on Martinez and rooting for Chavez? He makes it sound like Martinez was lucky to get the knockout last night. He actually dominated the fight for the most part. I gave Macklin 3 rounds at most, including the knockdown round.

He does have a good point on Martinez complaining that smaller guys won't fight him but he himself won't fight 168 pounders.

Oh I hope that is what he is insinuating. Since he is trying to hype Ortiz up as the #2 WW at the time and big up a win over an average fighter at best. While down playing Martinez win over Pavlik and P-Will. But, anyways lets say you're right and he is talking about fan base.

How does Ortiz have more fans? When was the last time he headlined an event as the A-side? HOw tickets did it sell? How did Berto-Ortiz do ticket sells wise? How many ratings has Ortiz been able to do headlining an HBO show? Was proof is there that Ortiz is more of a draw? We not going by his heritage are we? Because, no one gives a fuck about that average tree.

It's not really the same. Ward and Bute are full fledge 168 lb guys. Julio is a 160 guy that should easily be at 168. I just don't see why Sergio doesn't fight Ward or Bute, instead of desperately trying to get a Floyd fight.

Again why should he? If his limit is 160 why is it required for him to go up higher? Is he asking Floyd and Pac to go 160? No, Martinez is talking about going to 150. Apples and oranges man.

So then they're not the same size right?

Styles make fights and Sergio's need to keep his hands down to avoid getting arm weary would play a big factor if they ever face eachother. Sergio's inability to shake off right hands would also be a big problem for him. After comparing him to Cotto, Cotto keeps his guard up and has better timing than Maravilla. IMO He will bring a harder fight than Sergio could style wise and also is fighting at his prime weight.
Cotto will surprise a lot of people because his timing is underrated.

                  Merchant is right

As much as I hate Larry Merchant he is 100% correct on this.
Boxing is a business first and a sport second. (It kills me but its true)
Last night the number one middleweight in the world was barely able to put 5,000 butts in seats in NYC, and most of those fans were there for Macklin.
Chavez Jr, Cotto, or Mayweather all have the potential to put 20,000 people in a stadium.

And, Sergio has no one to blame but himself. He chose to stay with a second tier promoter. He could have signed with Top Rank or Golden Boy and chose to stay with Lou. I promise you had he signed with the other two he would not be fighting the Macklin's of the world.

he's undisputed middleweight champion of the world= if floyd steps up and beats him, floyd is a top 10 atg, meaning it enhances floyds legacy.

floyd is gunna make millions whoever he fights, so martinez's ppv sales are irrelevant.

Not undisputed. He is is the lineal MW champ, not undisputed. He would have to collect WBC, WBO, and WBA titles for that.
