Merchant is just a miserable prick. Its not even a bias, he just likes to ***** about people and it doesnt seem to matter who. Last time he was *****ing about Barker all night, when barker put up the best fight he could and came in with a good strategy but was simply outclassed.

Even when Foreman used to be biased for the big punchers like Hamed and Tito, (which is understandable to an extent because that was his thing), he merely overrated their chances late in the fight, he didnt sit there and talk **** about Hopkings or Barrera who were schooling them.

i think the fact is none of that needed to be said. when these brutes who slug and block punches with their face fight does he say they need better defense?? i dont think so. its a matter of opinion i guess, but merchant is a horrbile commentator not just for boxing but for sports in general and i think more ppl are beginning to see it.

I have a problem with it because he is being extremely disrespectful to the effort the real entertainers are giving in the ring.
Macklin may have gotten KO'd but he wasn't no bum he accounted for himself well but couldn't keep it up in the late rounds.
Sergion threw what Macklin let him throw.
Also Macklin put his knee behind Sergio's knee then hit him in the glove to score a fake KD. He even tried it again but failed.
But I surely don't need to hear 12 rounds of discrediting the MW champ from a tired old grump that never won a damn belt himself.

Everyone in the business knows Chavez is the undisputed middleweight champion of this world and I'll be goddamned if I'm going to listen HBO try and take away from Chavez what no fighter in the world could.

I'm sorry you can say Merchant is bias. I won't argue that. You can say that Merchant wants face first brawler fine. You can say that he F'ing sucks at his job. OK I won't disagree he is garbage.

But, tonight, just tonight the comments and the points that he made. The ones that I pointed out were on point.

This is exactly why a lot of people get pissed off with the HBO crew. You never here complaints when Pac fights. In fact, during Pac vs JMM 3 they made it sound as though Pac was the underdog.
